With his eccentric talent, French filmmaker Michel Gondry broke new ground: he reinvented the music video and challenged Hollywood with his handcrafted, playful style. The documentary, led by his longtime friend and assistant, François Nemeta, revisits Gondry’s career, from his early videos for his own band Oui Oui, his most famous works for artists and bands such as Björk, Daft Punk, The White Stripes, and The Chemical Brothers, his film career until his most recent feature, “The Book of Solutions” (2023). Over three decades, Gondry has showcased a fascinating and poetic work. The film delves into his unique creative process, and features appearances by Kylie Minogue, Beck, Jack White, Spike Jonze, Charlotte Gainsbourg and Jack Black.
