Hanna Schygulla travels from Paris to Cuba to make a film about her girlfriend and artistic partner, Cuban actress and director Alicia Bustamante. Alicia lightens the screen, sings, dances, recites poems and texts by Bertolt Brecht with passion, wisdom and humor, besides remembering her times in Paris and Havana. The documentary begins as a home movie, uses excerpts from Cuban films and does not follow any preconceived structure : unless maybe the one of Hanna’ own feelings and emotions.
