For the Unknown Dog (2007)
Sobre o filme
Bastian has killed a young hobo at a lonesome gas station in East Germany. Without reason, it means, just for fun. At the time of the manslaughter Bastian has just become twenty and has luckily found work as a craftsman in a concrete factory. His crime remains uncovered. The blackmailing of a former friend and only witness of the crime scene enforces Bastian to flee from his home. More by accident than by will he joins a group of travelling craftsmen. Young trainees, who live according to old German craftsmen rules traditionally on the streets, travelling mostly by feet, without mobiles, money, laptops and without a home for three years before they finally settle down. This extreme back-to-the-basics experience and a growing friendship with one of the wildest of the journeymen, the stonemason Festus, slowly changes Bastian’ attitude and thinking. When Bastian has to learn that his victim at the gas station was Fetus‚Äô best friend, he has to face his own grim past. Now he has to decide if he tells Festus a lie and keeps their friendship alive or if he tells the truth and loses Festus and his new freedom. His final decision becomes the turning point of Festus‚Äô and Bastian’ life.
