So Long, My Heart! (2006)
Sobre o filme
The film relates the story of three individuals who get to know each other at their jobs at a Mannheim Eldercare facility, and along the way they learn the meaning of love. The caregiver, 42 year old Holger spends his life seemingly following an orderly path, but is fleeing his messy, disorderly relationships in Berlin. He moves to southern Germany, where in his new surroundings he falls for 49 year old Barbara, who has worked for many years as a cook in the facility. Barbara is a single parent, and a demanding mother of a 16 year old daughter. Their affection for each other is strong and they powerfully close ranks when Head Caregiver Petra Opels expresses her enthusiasm for Holger. The disagreements with the elders push all three protagonists into more and more tragic-comic situations, leading them, in the end, to attain a certain kind of spirituality. The actress Pola Kinski is Klaus Kinski’ daughter and Nastassja’ half-sister.
