Sobre o filme

Photojournalist Jack Walker, with work that speaks out against the exploiting of nature by industry, arrives, with no prior notice, at the remote seaside town where his sister Olivia, with her children, leads a carefully planned, isolated life. Jack is charming, but prudent: he is reticent about the reasons that have brought him there and, also, concerning facts in his recent past, which he keeps secret. Jack feels drawn to his sister?s best friend, Lia, a kindergarten teacher and unmarried mother. She tries to introduce him into the local community. In the measure that the love affair between them develops, Jack?s pessimism is assuaged, and he is open to new prospects in the world. Jack is determined to win Thomas, Olivia?s rebel teenage son and to get him interested in an investigation he begins of his own initiative on the toxic effects of a factory of paints and resins on the surroundings. However, Thomas? behavior proves uncontrollable, and Jack is obliged to contain him and, in doing so, face up to his own past. The film was made on beautiful locations in Nova Scotia, in Canada.
