Wang is a criminal who joins two others to rob a bank. The deal comes off and, with his share of the money, he decides to travel to the United States where he intends to meet up with the love of his life whom he hasn?t seen for two years. While he is still at the airport, he goes into a shop to call his girlfriend and advise her he is on his way. To his surprise, she ends the affair then and there and tells him not to go to America, for she has a new boyfriend in his stead. Wang is so upset he draws his revolver, points it at the shopowner?s head and takes her as hostage. A policeman comes on the scene who tries to persuade him to take him as hostage in place of the woman. Wang refuses, points the revolver at his own head and demands an answer to the most complex of questions: "What is love?"
