Struggle (2003)
Sobre o filme
Eva and her daughter of eight have traveled from Poland to Austria in search of a better life. Eva works hard alternately picking strawberries or working in a poultry slaughterhouse. She represents a world of makeshift jobs, of illegal immigrants in constant anguish. Harold is a real estate agent who epitomizes a world opposite to that of Eva. In spite of this, he also contends with loneliness that he counteracts with masochistic games. Their paths are to cross leading to a ‘happy end’ with a bitter taste. The film brings into evidence a social situation, implacably so, sparing the viewer no realistic details. "I wanted to show each person?s effort at work. To me, the film deals with the difficulties inherent to the struggle to get a job, difficulties that each one of us must overcome day by day", says the director.
