Up Against Them All (2004)
Sobre o filme
Teodoro, his teenager daughter Soninha and his second wife Cláudia live in a district in the outskirts of São Paulo. The day-to-day life of this lower middle class family is, however, hased on lies. Behind a facade as a religious man, Teodoro makes a living as a professional killer, beats rebellious Soninha and endeavors to seduce devout Terezinha, his companion at church. Vain and unhappy in her marriage, Cláudia has an affair with Júlio the young son of the butcher in the neighborhood. Invariably present with this group is Waldomiro, friend and partner to Teodoro and object of desire for Soninha. The precarious balance in this nucleus is broken by the murder of Júlio. Cláudia accuses her husband and runs away. In a hotel in the center of town, she becomes involved with Lindoval, a doorman. Exhausted, Teodoro decides to leave São Paulo, marry Terezinha and have Soninha live with her grandmother. Nothing, works out as planned. Lindoval is beaten up by thugs and Cláudia becomes suspicious her ex-husband has tracked her down. That same night, Terezinha receives a video of Teodoro having intercourse with Cláudia. The matador attributes the idea of the tape to Cláudia. This double error is a prelude to a shocking finale.
