Dogville (2003)
Sobre o filme
The United States, during the Great Depression. Grace is on the run, escaping from a group of gangsters. She arrives at the lonely town of Dogville where she is aided by Tom, a local, who intercedes on her behalf with the community: they help her to hide and, in exchange, she promises she will help out with small services. The problem is that the gang intensify the search, which means the inhabitants are also at risk. They want more for the risk they are running, and Grace realizes that peace of mind costs more than she might suppose. The film merits attention for the settings with no scenery, substituted by signs indicative of the local streets, houses and a few objects. Dogville is the first film from a trilogy on the United States by director Lars von Trier. Others will be Manderlay and Washington.
