Sensitive Edi ekes out a living scavenging for scrap metal. In a bar, he meets two brothers, distributors of liquor and known to be cruel and hard in business. They offer Edi an incredible job, namely, to be tutor to Princesa, their 17-year-old sister who, as from the death of the parents, has been brought up by the brothers. They try to protect her from male harassment by locking her up in the house, and they opt for Edi when they know of his fondness for the books he comes across in the garbage. They are also convinced that because he is nothing to look at, she will never fall for him. Edi feels sorry for the girl in her solitude and accepts the job. Three months later, Princesa is expectant. The father of the child is, possibly, a young gipsy who sells liquor. The brothers are furious and out to do justice at all costs. The girl tries to cover up for the boy she is in love with and accuses Edi of rape.
