Elvis Karlsson is a boy who understands his parents or any other adult very well. The problem is that they don`t understand him. Elvis only finds understanding in his grandparents and his friend Anna-Rosa. All he wants is to be accepted as he is and to get the affection and concern of his mother, the person who makes the least effort to understand him. His mother, logically, always says she loves Elvis, but he doesn`t know if that refers to him or to the idol who inspired the choice of his name. The film is based on books by the Swedish writer Maria Gripe.
