Haiti in the seventies. A group of foreigners is staying at a small hotel, paradise itself, on the sea front. Americans Brenda and Ellen are competing for the affections of Legba, a local Adonis, a youth of only 18. The oasis which is the hotel is isolated from the miserable, terror-struck island of the tontons macoutes of the Duvalier dictatorship. More than sex, these women are in search of tenderness that their outer world denies them. An adaptation of three novels by Dany Laferrière, Haitian author in exile during the Duvalier dictatorship.
