The increase in corruption in modern society, the power of the great corporations, and the cynicism and sensationalism of the press are portrayed in this drama as from the death of a young union leader Prabir Datta _ a tragedy that is defined as having been accidental by a large company the boy knew too much about. Soon after Prabir’s death, his friend Bijon is obliged to run away from the city to escape the police and the company security services. A reporter is meanwhile detailed off to investigate the story and eventually reaches Sandipan, the union leader’s sister. She wants vengeance for her brother’s death, but will not be able to count on Bijon to help since, on his return to the city, he appears not to care about the crime. He has lost his idealism and come to terms with the system, even in the knowledge that injustice and impunity will continue. A drama based on a text by Dibyendu Palit.
