Sobre o filme
After he was attacked and robbed one night in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Hsiao-kang, a homeless Chinese is rescued and saved by some workers from Bangdalesh. One of them, Rawang, allows him to sleep beside him on an old mattress that he found in the street. Later, when Chyi, a waitress in a cafeteria, meets Hsiao-kang, she is seized by voluptuous desire. As Hsiao-kang gradually recovers, he finds himself divided between Rawang and Chyi. In the process, Chyi recovers her femininity. Meanwhile, a heavy mist falls on the city, making it as humid as the sweat on that population of multiple ethnic backgrounds living there, searching for work. The men and women and the old mattress are lost in the mist, but they will meet once more.
