Festival Express (2003)
Sobre o filme
In the summer of 1970, a train, specially chartered for the occasion, raced across Canada. On the train were some of the greatest stars in the world of rock, at the time: Grateful Dead, Janis Joplin, The Band, Buddy Guy, and other legends traveled together for five days in a veritable round of festivities day and night. From Toronto to Winnipeg, they stopped at the largest cities along the way for shows with audiences of thousands. The journey is little known, but was recorded and today, over 30 years later, it has become a musical documentary showing day-to-day life for the musicians during the trip, in addition to shows, interviews, and hitherto unknown renditions of songs such as "Cry Baby" and "Me & Bobby McGee", with Janis Joplin; "Casey Jones", with Grateful Dead, and "I Shall Be Released", with The Band, in addition to a jam session in "Sunshine of Your Love", a great success by Cream, Eric Clapton.
