Good Night, and Good Luck (2005)
Sobre o filme
At the height of McCarthyism, TV anchor Edward Morrow and his team of reporters, challenge the powers that be, just to be allowed to present both points of view in an issue. Morrow exposes the lies and tactics used by senator Joseph McCarthy in his witch hunt against supposed communists. A great public confrontation ensues as from the time McCarthy, rather than resorting to his right to an answer offered by Morrow, tries to intimidate him and accuses him of being, also, a communist. The conflict occurs in 1950 when television was at an incipient stage and the CBS journalists, then at the start of their career, did not yet exert the force they were to acquire in years to come. Even so, the television network kept the program going as long as it could.
