Sobre o filme

The sound track includes The Cure, Bauhaus, and Siouxie and the Banshees. They are Gypsy, age 25 and Clive, 18. Gypsy is shocking in appearance, although she is slightly overweight. All in black, she is horrifying and paints her hair in the manner of her pop star idol, Stevie Nicks. There is a beautiful song that resounds in Gipsy’s innermost, but years of fear and discrimination have made her silent. Clive is a handsome boy who wears make-up on his face and paints his lips black. Full of strength, talent and youthful dreams, he worships Gipsy, but believes that one day he will find the truth, true love, in the arms of another boy. The couple feel out of place in the conservative little town where they live, Sandusky, Ohio. They learn of the “Night of 1000 Stevies” in New York, a meeting place each year for hundreds of clones of star Stevie Nicks. Wildly excited at the possibility of abandoning a routine existence, they set out in search of a little glamor, following in the direction of their cosmopolitan dreams. They rent a 1979 Trans Am and set out on a journey of self-affirmation and an encounter with love.
