Invisibles (2007)
Sobre o filme
This is a story of stories. It’s the desire to give voice to some of those who have been silenced by indifference and a modest tribute to those who never looked the other way. Above all however it represents the intention of five influential directors to make the real-life and its unique protagonists visible, those who we would prefer to continue believing are invisible. The initiative headed by Spanish actor Javier Bardem - producer of the documentaries – celebrates the 20th anniversary of the Spanish section of the Médecins Sans Frontières and intends to get some sense of justice to people forgotten in the world by governments, corporations, institutions and citizens. Wim Wenders, in Invisibles Crimes, tells about mass rape during the Congo civil war. In Letter to Nora, Isabel Coixet provides an account of some of the victims of sleeping sickness, a disease which currently affects 18 million people in Latin America. Javier Corcuera examines in The Voice of the Stones the long-term effects of violence against rural workers in Colombia. Good Night, Ouma, by Fernando León de Aranoa, gives voice to the civil population and children who became soldiers at the Uganda’s war. Two different ways of using pharmaceutical ingredients, in Africa and France, are taken in Bianca’s Dream, by Mariano Barroso.
