Italian for Beginners (2000)
Sobre o filme
An evening course in the Italian language may be a good occasion to find company, a new friend, or even, a great love. In fact, it does not have to be all that great. Once over the age of thirty, living on the outskirts of a small grey city in up-country Denmark, it is necessary to dance to the music. This is so for Olympia who works in a candy shop, for hairdresser Karen, for waitress Giulia, the unemployed waiter Hal-Finn, and for protestant pastor Andreas who has just arrived in town. Together, between subjects and predicates, the students are to discover the rules of the verb tenses and of the heart. Integrating the movement Dogma 95, Italian for Beginners broaches the search for happiness after the age of thirty in a light and amusing form.
