Sobre o filme

Based on more than 25 hours of previously unheard audio taped interviews conducted with Cobain by music journalist Michael Azerrad for his book "Come As You Are: The Story of Nirvana" the documentary presents an intimate portrait of the late musician and artist Kurt Cobain, The conversations heard in the film have never before been made public. Kurt Cobain recounts his own life : from his childhood and adolescence to his days of musical discovery and later dealings with explosive fame. The movie inserts sound track with artists that influenced or touched him (Iggy Pop, David Bowie, REM, Queen) and takes of the cities which changed his history, like Aberdeen and Seattle. Through Kurt Cobain`s recounting, spectators also see a portrait of a specific moment in American history. Because of the exquisite purity of his own anger, Kurt Cobain came to be known as a spokesman for his generation. While Cobain never embraced this label, the film makes clear that he was a thoughtful and introspective figure, and that these societal and cultural changes had a huge and profound influence on his art.
