The largest survey of public opinion ever to be conducted in the world took place in Brazil in 2005. At that time more than 80 million citizens were convoked to decide on prohibition of the sale of fire weapons nationwide.
This documentary records the days leading up to this historic poll, as it follows the daily events at Instituto Sou da Paz (I am for Peace Institute), an organisation which pioneered the disarmament process in Brazil.
In the midth of deep political instability, the dispute brings to discussion complex issues, hidden motives and divides the country.
From idealism to pragmatism, a battle which reveals fundamental aspects of a nation at a crucial turning point in its democratic journey.
