Moebius Redux – A Life in Pictures (2006)
Sobre o filme
A stunning audiovisual trip takes the viewer inside the visionary mind of legendary French comic book artist Jean Giraud, best known as Moebius. In the movie, an exceptional artist tells his life’s and work’s story. Artists he met and left on his way join in: long time collaborators like, among others, filmmakers Alejandro Jodorowsky and Philippe Druillet, Swiss artist H.R. Giger and Marvel Comics legend Stan Lee. The design and look of the film moves to match the various alter egos on-screen diving into the visual universes that Giraud has created, always in search for fusion zones to the diverse places that he travelled. Richly coloured, surreal images of Moebius comics spring to life, finding an equivalent in the futuristic buildings of Paris. Giraud himself outlines panels with his pencil, the camera completes the picture. The vistas revealed in the film for the viewer is accompanied by soundscapes from ex-Kraftwerk musician Karl Bartos, who brings his own experience as a composer for the digital age to bear.
