Three generations cross each other, beginning with Manoel de Oliveira, the filmmaker ever present throughout the 20th century. He was the cradle of cinema itself ˆ each one of his films surprises and at the same time re-affirms, with no compromise, his cinematographic concept. Then, João Bénard da Costa who entered through films and through cinema and with cinema saw and showed life. Last of all, Rita Azevedo Gomes herself, who since her initiation into cinema came close to both directors and who, each time she was before both together, observed beyond that which was evident -- a personal relationship between both.
