Sobre o filme
News from Home/News from House completes a trilogy begun in 1980 with House and continued in 1998 with House in Jerusalem. Abandoned by Palestinian owners in the 1948 war, expropriated by the Israeli government, rented by Jewish Algerian immigrants in 1956 and bought by a university professor who took it upon himself to renovate the three historical houses in 1980, - this building west of Jerusalem is once more a microcosm, just as it was 25 years ago. The inhabitants have dispersed, space in common has disintegrated, but traces of both, emotionally and physically linger on in the Israel-Palestine deadlock. Reality became dispersed memory. A new identity and a new diaspora must be defined. In creating a kind of human archeology, Amos Gitai goes deep into the relationship between the inhabitants of the house, between past and present, between Israelis and Palestinians. Each of these occupants becomes a symbol of one region, of a world, of one destiny.
