Talking Eyes (2007)
Sobre o filme
Documentary on the passion for cinema made during the
30th Mostra. The project gathered critics and film makers, Brazilians and foreigners, and gave them all the same importance. The film makers and their teams make the films, but the artistic process is only really completed in all of its fullness and range in the erudite view of the critics who contextualize the films in the global scenario and act as cultural agents as fundamental as the creators themselves. There are in truth two sides to one same artistic creation. It is an affectionate minimalist investigation with macro lenses in hyper-plane-detail of the eyes of journalists such as Inácio Araújo, Maria do Rosário Caetano and Neusa Barbosa, among others, in addition to filmmakers such as Arnaldo Jabor, Cao Hamburger, Lírio Ferreira, Tata Amaral, and Walter Salles, photography director Walter Carvalho and the German Wolfgang Becker (part of the jury for the 30th Mostra). Without singing undue praises, the documentary also pays tribute to Mostra that for decades has gathered together what is best in Brazilian
and in world cinema.
