Sobre o filme

Sixty years have passed since Pesya Goldfarb survived the concentration camps and now she decides, with her granddaughter Yaeli, to go on a journey of the "back to one?s roots" type. Leah, Pesya?s daughter is amazed at her mother?s decision since she has never said a word about her past, nor shared her story with anyone, until lately. Her only reference to the subject, when it arises has always been "I, Pesya Goldfarb, am alive. That is all I have to say." Yaeli also has another reason to accompany her grandmother on the journey - to retrieve a gold necklace that was hidden in her parents? house before the family was taken to Auschwitz. Leah is offended at Pesya?s decision, for she had always offered her mother this type of journey, so that they might together visit her place of birth and house, but she never accepted. Pesya insists and leaves with her granddaughter. One afternoon, when they are in the Jewish quarters in Krakow, Poland, visiting the concentration camp, Pesya tells her granddaughter the real story.
