On the sidelines of the confrontation between the Allende government and the opposition, the population organizes itself to find ways of survival, especially the popular classes, who supported the Allende administration. To create alternatives to the economic boycott and overcome the crisis, a series of collective actions were carried out. Community markets and peasant committees were some of the ways used by the people to react to the crisis and the scarcity of food.
