The Monastery of Sendomir (1920)
Sobre o filme
A monk goes over the means whereby a monastery came into being. He tells a story of a certain Count Starchensky, the owner of all of the land in that region. The narrative weaves forwards and backwards in time and, at a given moment, it becomes clear that the count is associated to a criminal plot with its roots in the jealousy he feels for his wife. This leads to suspicion as to the real identity of the Count and of the part played by the monk in the winding plot. Based on a short story by German writer Franz Grillparzer.
