The Doorman (2007)
Sobre o filme
A documentary film crew has set out to make an insiders‚Äô guide to the nightlife of New York, inspired by a chance Fashion Week meeting with it`s most powerful nightclub doorman, Trevor W. Trevor. He will star in the doc, his idea being to show this crew (and the world that knows and loves him) the serious business involved with holding such an esteemed position of power. His life will be followed not only while on duty at the club, but also during his jet-set jaunts across the country working private events, and in his more personal daily life, which includes selecting the latest high fashions with a personal shopper, yoga class, and visiting his adoptive grandma for Sunday brunch. As shooting unfolds, the crew begins to suspect that perhaps their star doesn‚Äôt hold the power he claims. Mild investigation reveals that he indeed lost his job. Everyone seems to be aware of this fact : except for Trevor himself. Treading lightly around the sensitive subject, the crew is forced to deal with Trevor disappearing and a rival doorman’ attempt to steal the spotlight, before finally confronting Trevor with a dose of reality. Now Trevor will have to look for a new job : something that is at his level, something he can be happy with. But what, exactly, is on the level of a man used to being on top? There are quick appearances by celebrities like filmmaker Peter Bogdanovich and actor Justin Kirk.
