Sobre o filme
Léon is a lonely man who has no occupation and no contact with anybody. All he does is looking after her sick mother until she dies. To break his solitude, Léon likes to steal his neighbors‚Äô mail, to listen secretly to other people’ conversations, to follow the comings and goings of travelers at a small train station. One day, Dolores, a noisy Spanish woman, moves to his neighborhood and totally attracts Léon’ attention. He learns about Dolores‚Äô encounters, knows her sorrows, eardrops the ups and downs of her luck, and takes part in her life without her knowing it. Year after year, Léon writes down on a notebook all the tiny details of her daily life. Only eventually Dolores will discover that there is someone who has become her shadow. Among the many prizes the film won: a Special Mention of the Jury at the Chicago Latino Film Festival, best first film at the Guadalajara International FF, the Special Prize of the Jury at the Montevideo IFF and best actress (Lola Dueñas) at the Punta del Este IFF (both in Uruguay), the Special Prize of the Jury and best direction at the Tudela National FF (Spain), and the Jules Verne Award for best film at the Nantes Spanish Film Festival (France).
