Sobre o filme

Jean-Luc Godard defends to this day his One + One, which he considers the director`s cut of Sympathy for the Devil, with three minutes less and main montage by Ken Rowles. In a series of abstract vignettes, and going far beyond recording the activities of the Rolling Stones, Godard tested themes like race, pornography, music, the role of the media, the counterculture of the Black Panthers, the irony of the interviews of celebrities and women’ liberation. At that time, furious with the editing imposed by producer Iain Quarrier on Sympathy..., Godard showed up at the debut with a check in the amount of the total value of all tickets to reimburse the theater and thus incite the public to leave there and watch his cut. Since 1968, the two films were never again seen together. This opportunity is now being offered by the 31st Mostra.
