Black Gold (2006)
Sobre o filme
While westerners delight in capuccinos in elegant cafés that proliferate the world over, to eventually become multinational networks, coffee planters in Ethiopia suffer the bitter taste of injustice. In this revealing survey, brothers Marc and Nick Francis show the struggle of one man for fairer negotiations. Tadesse Meskela, leader of the cooperative of coffee planters, travels the world over to counteract the avidity of intermediaries and find buyers that will pay a fair price. In his journeying, he goes to Ethiopia, to London, and to Seattle, to show the Machiavellic machinations of the system of international trade.
