Eliza Naumann is 11 and belongs to a really weird family. When, unexpectedly, she is well on her way to being the winner in a spelling bee, the stability of her family is jeopardized. A secret side to her usually dour father, Saul, emerges, and he sees something extraordinary in his own daughter. Her compulsive mother, Miriam, sees in the father-daughter bond, the same link that she had with her husband in the past.
