After ten years in prison for the murder of her lover, Annie returns to her village. There she finds her daughter, Sophie, living with the dead man’ mother who’ been looking after the girl. Annie has to re-learn how to live and forget the demons of the past. She tries to resume her life under the watchful of her daughter who is full of curiosity about her mother. Sophie tries to renew contact with her mother and to keep her from slipping in despair. But it isn‚Äôt easy: the memory of acts committed and the persistence of the dead are a heavy burden to bear. The film won the New Vision Award at the 2007 Roma Independent Film Festival, and the actress Céline Bonnier was awarded three times: the Golden Reel award at the 2007 Tiburon International Film Festival (USA), the Prix Jutra 2007 (Canada) and Best Actress at the 2006 Atlantic Film Festival (Canada), divided with costars Juliette Gosselin and Geneviève Bujold.
