Casa Rosa was the most famous brothel in Rio de Janeiro in the twentieth century. In 1991, it closed down and, four years later, was rehabilitated as a cultural venue for parties, events, and musical performances. Hundreds of young people now go there every weekend. In 2004, filmmaker Gustavo Pizzi, a regular guest at parties there, invited a number of people who had known the site as a brothel to revisit the house - former customers, employees, and Ivanilda, a prostitute age 65, who was there when she was 17 and had, since then, never again returned. During the visit, the subjects discussed range from memory, morale, and negotiation.
