Awarded the Silver Leopard at the Locarno Festival, the film begins with a young man, on the top floor of a building, about to commit suicide. A former professor is indicated as the ideal person to try to dissuade him. Upon arriving at the scene, however, he establishes an informal conversation with the suicidal person, which displeases the head of the rescue operation. A psychiatrist is called to collaborate, thus triggering a conflict between two antagonistic conceptions on how to influence a human being.
