Four members of one and the same family, full of guilt, bitterness, and frustration with a terrible secret that is about to be revealed hovering over them. They try to draw apart one from the other, but cannot. They try their best to keep up appearances, but the more they smile, the greater the silence between them. The cracks in a family portrait spread further and further, until the inevitable happens and the secret is told. The effect is that of a time-bomb amid people who look in different directions, but who do not wish to be alone at any time.
