Ice Breaker (2005)
Sobre o filme
Freezing water jammed with icebergs is the natural environment for the Henry Larsen ice breaker, the most active of all the Canadian Coastguard ships. For 42 days consecutively, the camera focuses on the mission of the ship - to clear the way for other boats that sail the length of the Canadian coastline with the city of St John, in Newfoundland, Greenland, as a starting point. The documentary also records the relationship that builds up between the sailors and officers of the crew, in an environment of considerable isolation and extremely hard climatic conditions. On board this ship, with the mission, also, to shield the sovereignity of the country, each and every day is an intense journey in itself - a battle against loneliness, stress, and exhaustion.
