Foreland (2005)
Sobre o filme
Flooded plains, polders, are typical of the Dutch landscape. They define life for the inhabitants of the region and survive the transforming action of man. Each generation erases the traces of former generations and leaves its own mark on the landscape. The documentary shows remnants of the past such as the last farmer to breed cattle in the region, a brickworks long since deactivated and the archeological site of a Roman camp from the time of the Roman Empire. On the other hand, the future is there with the construction of a tunnel and a highway. And, yet again, the polders must adapt to the imposition of man.
