The Bridge (2006)
Sobre o filme
Golden Gate Bridge spanning San Francisco Bay, is one of the most important tourist attractions in the U.S. But it is also the site of the greatest number of suicides in the world. During the year of 2004, the director kept a record, day after day, of the tragic routine for this picture postcard. In addition to traffic with cars, pedestrians and tourists, he filmed over twenty suicides. The documentary records people in the act of climbing the railings to fling themselves off the bridge. The director then goes in search of statements from family and friends of the suicide victims to try and comprehend their motives. The film caused a debate as to whether the bridge should be fitted with anti-suicide railings.
