The Horrible Flowers (2006)
Sobre o filme
After fifteen years of hard work with her garage rock band, The Horrible Flowers, Bettina has an invitation. On the road, playing for insignificant amounts, in places bereft of any charm, Bettina?s agent tells her they will tour Europe. But Bettina is in doubt. One year previously, she left her husband, her former percussionist, and her son, together, in Minneapolis. Before attaining the success for which she has sacrificed all, Bettina must come to terms with her past. With a convenient excuse, to save two desperate teenagers, she pretends not to be too well and goes back to Minneapolis to visit husband and son. When she finds them, she is overcome by her fears. She implores her husband to take her back, and he, in anger, accepts. But both of them know perfectly well she was never born to be a mere housewife. Bettina also discovers that her best friend Isa has played the role of mother to her son and mistress to her husband. Truth is the most painful of all to her, but also, her secret desire: not only does she not want her old life back again, but she no longer needs it back.
