Tow in Surfing (2005)
Sobre o filme
Surfers are towed by jet-ski into waves that are higher than a five-storey building. This is Tow in Surfing, a new modality of surf so that surfers will ride the biggest waves the ocean can produce. The documentary shows how a group of courageous men are expanding the limits of surf. Many of the takes were made in Hawaii using six cameras filming simultaneously from the air, from the water, and from the cliffs that surround Jaws, on the island of Maui and regarded as the best spot in the world for the largest waves. The high point of the story occurs on January 7, 2002, a typical winter?s day in Hawaii when the Tow in World Cup, the first and only competition of this type, was held in Jaws. The film investigates why some people risk their lives in extreme conditions facing some of the most frightening waves of the decade. As part of the documentary, are some of the best tow surfers on the planet - Archie Kallepa, Brad Gerlach, Buzzy Kerbox, Cheyne Horan, Rodrigo Resende, Ryan Rawson, and Victor Lopez, among others.
