Sobre o filme

Rome, May 6, 1938. Benito Mussolini and Adolf Hitler meet to make fast a political union that, the following year, was to plunge the world into a Second World War. Practically all of the population is there, including the fascist husband of Antonietta, a lonely housewife who quite by chance gets to know Gabrielle, her neighbor. She has never before talked to Gabrielle, newly dismissed from a radio broadcaster because he is homosexual. She is an unhappy wife who feels insecure at never having had any professional training. And, little by little, the two develop a very special type of friendship. The film was awarded a Golden Globe in 1978 and, also, the Cesar Prize (the French Oscar) for Best Foreign Film.
