A heterogeneous group of politics, journalists, scientists, bourgeois, elegant women and spies meet at the fine Splendide Hotel, in Bordeaux. Among the guests, is the world-wild famous actress Viviane Denvers. The leading character is the young writer Frédéric, who has to make a choice: flattering the famous movie actress or help the young beautiful daughter of an important scientist, to escape from the Nazi and go to London. It’s a crucial moment for the young man, who has to leave behind the youth irresponsibility, getting in the ambiguity of the adult world, in a historic moment, where rules or good sense doesn’t seem to be important anymore.
