The only family member that remains for old miner Natale Giacalone is Rosina. She left Marsala for the Unites States many years ago with the dream of becoming an actress, but never came back. To see her, Natale decides to make movies, but someone steals his camera and he is unable to finish them. The young Niccolò, the thief’s son, finds the camera and returns it to its rightful owner. Grateful for the act of kindness, Natale decides to give the camera to Niccolò, under the condition that he will help him finish the movie.
