This science fi ction fi lm, constructed from still photographs, begins in a devastated Paris after World War III where survivors live underground. Scientists research time travel, hoping to send test subjects to different time periods “to call past and future to the rescue of the present”. They have diffi culty fi nding subjects who can mentally withstand the shock of time travel, but eventually settle upon a prisoner whose key to the past is a vague but obsessive memory from his pre-war childhood: a woman he sees on the observation platform at the Orly Airport and a man dying.
