When he was a kid, Ismail fled Afghanistan with his brother, Hassan, to get away from Taliban. Separated from their mother, they lived in Europe for many years. The matriarch never gave up on getting news from her sons, but when Ismail contacts her by phone, she does not recognize him. After several uneasy phone calls, the man decides to face the scars from the war and the story of his people, the Hazara.
