Born in Georgia in 1991, he grew up in Russia until he was 13 years old. His family then moved to France. He studied at the Ecole Supérieure de Réalisation Audiovisuelle (ESRA), in Nice. Popkhadze wrote and directed the short films “The Sun of the Sleepless” (2017) and “In Silence Everything Roars” (2023), screened at the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival and Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival, respectively. “In the Name of Blood” is his first feature film.
