Alice Rohrwacher

Born in Italy in 1981, she graduated from the University of Turin in literature and philosophy. At 29, Alice directed her first film, “Corpo Celeste” (2011), presented at the Directors’ Fortnight at the Cannes Film Festival. It was followed by “The Wonders” (2014, 38th Mostra), winner of the grand prize of the jury at Cannes, “Happy as Lazzaro” (2018), winner of the award for screenplay at Cannes, the documentary “Futura” (2021, 45th Mostra) and “La Chimera” (2023), winner of the audience award for best international fiction at the 47th Mostra, as well as “Le Pupille” (2022, 46th Mostra), nominated to the best short film at the Academy Awards. In 2020, she co-directed the short film “Omelia Contadina” with JR.
