Abbasi is a Pakistani-American filmmaker from Little Rock, Arkansas. He is a writer-director, editor, and composer, who has worked in documentaries for several years. He made the short films “Bad Water” (2013) and “Udaan” (2021), in addition to the feature film “Dayveon” (2017, 41st Mostra), screened at Sundance and Berlin film festivals. “Yasmeen’s Element” is his second feature film.
